NAS

Hip-hop veteran Nas was saluted as an icon on Saturday (15 Oct 16) at Sean 'Diddy' Combs' 2016 Revolt Music Conference in Miami, Florida.

The One Mic hitmaker was presented with the Jimmy Iovine Icon Award in recognition of his lasting impact and influence on the industry, and his fellow rappers DMX and Busta Rhymes were among the stars on hand to help Nas celebrate the achievement.

Thanking his Hate Me Now collaborator Diddy for the prize on social media, Nas wrote, "@iamdiddy thanks for the friendship. For being my brother. We're two crazy mfa's (motherf**kers) who somehow figured it out for ourselves. But you are a Leader that we ALL learned from (sic). Truly humbled by the Honor King. The future is ours. Let's continue to pave the way."

The evening also featured special appearances from Nas' young cousin, black-ish actress Yara Shahidi, and his daughter, Destiny, who praised her father in a touching speech at the ceremony.

Sharing an Instagram photo of his 22-year-old girl onstage, Nas wrote, "My daughter is my shining light. Biggest surprise is when she showed up and surprised me when I thought she had other plans! Thank you @iamdestinyjones your words will always stay with me."
